  1. sorry to disagree, but it is a “nothingburger”…some examples, in a different article, of real dollar changes showed very, very little difference (even for larger IRAs)…a more meaningful, helpful change would be to raise the RMD age to, say, 75…

  2. I recall that when the life expectancy tables were updated during the Clinton administration – my mother was on Social Security back then – starting in tax year 2001 her RMDs were reduced by over 40%. Now, that was a significant change!
    This recent change will lower my RMDs only by a few low single digit percentage points. (Not a really big deal, but I’ll take it.)
